Imagine getting up in the morning and maybe having a little morning ritual to help you wake up, and then asking yourself: What do you want to create today?
Do you feel like writing or drawing?
Do you want to go for a walk and see what ideas bubble up inside you?
Do you want to sit in nature, meditate, or just observe what’s happening around you until you get a new insight that
inspires you to start creating?
Do you want to bring your laptop to a cafe, order your favorite beverage and watch the people go by while working on some new projects.
Or do you want to hop on a bus or drive to the beach? Go for a swim and play with sand.
Do you want to sculpt? Dance. Sing. Mess around on the piano.
Dig your hands deep into the earth. Plant new seeds. Prepare a beautiful meal for yourself or others.
Do you want to build with wood or cardboard? Paint a wall or a tiny watercolor picture?
Imagine diving right into whatever lights you opt that morning, and let yourself enjoy the feeling of flow
without guilt and thinking you should be using your time in a more productive way.
What if that IS the most productive thing you can do with your time? What if you were meant to create from flow every
day?
I love the idea of waking up every morning and rather than just looking at my To Do list, which is good to have as well, but before you start working on your to do list to just ask yourself:
What do I want to create today? What do I want to work on today?
And then, follow your intuition. Follow whatever is coming up for you. And do that.
You can still go back to your to do list afterwards. But I think if you just follow your intuition and you do whatever you feel like doing in the morning, when you are still fresh just after waking up, or sometimes just during the day or in the evening when you get a spark of an idea or something, like an impulse that tells you oh, I could create this or write about that or I could talk about this. And then just do it.
And there is so much power behind that. You just take your phone or your camera or your notepad or your laptop and create whatever comes up, whatever you want to do in that moment.
We have so many excuses not to do it in that moment. And then the moment is gone. And the inspiration is gone.
But if you actually act on the inspiration it’s so much more powerful than putting it on a list and sitting down at some stage an say: oh yeah, I have to do this but now I’m not in the mood and I don’t really feel like it. Maybe tomorrow.
No, just take the idea and just go with it, like I just did with this podcast.
So what do YOU want to create today?
