I’ve been making these tiny mini journals using only one sheet of paper and a bit of brown paper bag for the cover.
I love them so much.
You can bring them anywhere and jot down a few happy moments throughout your day. Imagine looking back through them at the end of the month, full of good memories, big and small.
First I tried making this mini mag, and it’s definitely good for making small books without a stapler.
But I prefer using a stapler to attach the pages together and then use the brown paper bag to cover the staples.
Do you want to join me and make a mini gratitude journal for this month (or next)?
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 sheet of ordinary copy paper
- a brown paper bag (or bits of wrapping paper, thin cardboard, paper that comes in boxes when you order something, etc. – be creative)
- glue stick
- scissors
- stapler
- fineliner (or pen, marker, coloured pencils,…)
Step 1
Fold your sheet of paper in half. Open up again and cut along the crease (you now have 2 smaller pages).
Fold these pieces of paper in half, open up and cut along the crease (4 pages).
One more time fold these smaller pieces of paper in half, open up and cut along the line (8 pages).
Step 2
Fold all these pieces of paper in half, open up and use the stapler to staple the pages together. Two staples are good.
Step 3
Place your open book on the brown paper bag and cut with an extra allowance all around it.
Step 4
You can do the next step free hand or first draw the lines that you are going to cut to attach the cover to the book.
Step 5
Fold in the flaps and glue them to the first page and the last page of the book.
Step 6
After making your mini journal, you can give it a title and decorate it with a simple drawing.
If you make one of these mini journals come over to YouTube and let me know. I’d love to see your creations.
Wishing you a month filled with gratitude and happiness!
With love and appreciation,
