Explore Your Art Supplies: A 7 Day Art Challenge

Sometimes when I watch my children create freely without hesitation I’m a little bit jealous.

They just create because it feels good. Sure, they have ideas they want to bring to life, and they can get frustrated at times, too. But what sets them apart is their fearless approach to trying new things, failing, and trying again.

I’ve often found myself wanting to borrow a bit of that “beginner’s mind” energy and create without fear.

Perhaps you can relate? Do you, like me, have a treasure trove of unused art supplies tucked away in your cupboard? Or have you always wanted to be more creative but never quite found the time or motivation to take that first step?

Here’s an invitation for you: I’ve decided to host a series of 7-Day Art Challenges, starting with a focus on Gouache.

I have a long list of other art materials that I’d love to dive into, but for this week, I’ve chosen Gouache. And I’d like to invite you to join me on this artistic journey.

When you subscribe below, you’ll receive your free Art Challenge Bundle, which includes:

  • A printable to hang on your wall and color in as you complete your daily practice.
  • A helpful sheet of tips and guidelines to support your artistic exploration.
  • A list of 12 creative ideas to kick start your exploration of Gouache.

Additionally, you can visit me on Instagram (@explore.your.artsupplies) where we can discuss our progress, share our challenges, and maybe even post pictures of our work if we feel like it – although there’s absolutely no pressure to do so!

The primary goal here is to rediscover the joy of exploring our art supplies, free from the pressure of creating a masterpiece or something conventionally beautiful. Let’s embrace curiosity and have fun, just like children do.

Are you ready to embark on this creative journey with me? Let’s dust off those art supplies, open ourselves to new possibilities, and let our inner artists thrive. Subscribe below, and let’s get started on our 7-Day Gouache Art Challenge!
